Thrively Last updated: September 1, 2026
This policy explains what Thrively collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it. It is written to describe what the app actually does.
Thrively is operated by Reeves Adventures L.L.C. ("we," "us," "our"), a North Carolina limited liability company. Contact us any time at hello@thrively.app.
The short version
- Your tasks, reminders, birthdays, and anniversaries stay on your device. We never receive them — unless you deliberately share a task with your household, which is the one thing that leaves the phone, and only the task you shared.
- You can use most of Thrively without an account at all. An account is only needed for Family Sharing.
- If you do create an account, we store very little: an identifier, a display name, and — if you join a household — your household membership, the entries you add to its activity feed, and the tasks you chose to share.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, we run no advertising, and we have no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
- If you have an account, we keep a record of which setup steps you have finished — whether a field is filled in, never what is in it. Section 5 says exactly what that covers.
- We do not collect your phone number, your address, your location, your contacts, your photos, or any advertising identifier.
- You can delete your account from inside the app, and change your mind for 14 days.
1. What stays on your device
Unless you deliberately share something with a household — see section 3 — the following never leaves your iPhone. It is stored locally and, where relevant, in a shared container so the widgets and Live Activities can read it. We have no copy and no access.
- Your tasks and chores, their titles, notes, due dates, and completion history
- Your reminder schedule and check-in timing preferences
- Birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions you enter, including names and dates
- Renewal and expiration dates you record, such as for a passport, license, registration, or inspection
- Your bin and recycling collection days
- Your onboarding answers and setup progress
- Usage counters the app keeps to pace its own suggestions
The one exception is a shared task. A household list has to be shared to exist, so anything you mark as shared is stored on our servers, and is described in section 3. Everything you keep to yourself stays on the phone.
If you never create an account, nothing in this section is stored anywhere but your own device, and none of it is ours.
2. What we collect when you create an account
An account is required only for Family Sharing.
If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your name. Apple's Hide My Email is supported; if you use it, we only ever see the relay address, not your real one.
Your profile. A display name, which you control, and which household you belong to.
3. What we collect when you use Family Sharing
Household records. The household name, the invite codes generated for it, who created each invite and when it expires, who owns the household, and its membership list.
Activity feed entries. When someone in your household does something noteworthy — joins, completes a shared item — we store a short entry with the person's display name, a message, and a timestamp.
Shared tasks. A task you mark as shared is stored on our servers, because that is the only way the other people in your household can see it. For each one we hold its title, any note you added, its due date and repeat schedule, who it is assigned to, whether it takes turns, and — for a shared renewal — its expiration date. We also store who completed each occurrence and when, so everyone's list agrees.
This is a deliberate exception and the only one. A task you keep to yourself is never uploaded, whatever it contains. Nothing in this section applies to your private tasks, your private occasions, your own renewal dates, or your trash days.
Shared plan state. One row per household recording which upkeep suggestions the household has had, which it has turned down, the pace they arrive at, and — if somebody turns on vacation mode — the dates it covers and who started it. It holds dates and identifiers only; no task titles, no names, and nothing about where anybody is.
Account deletion requests. If you ask us to delete your account, we record your user identifier, the household you were in at the time so we can put you back if you change your mind, and the date of the request, so we know when to carry it out.
What other people in your household can see
This is the one place Thrively shares your information with other people, and it happens only because you chose to join a household.
Other members of your household can see your display name, that you are a member, the activity entries you generate, and every task marked as shared, including who completed it and when. The household owner can additionally see the time-limited invite codes they created, and can remove any member. Every member can see the household's permanent invite code.
Members cannot see your private tasks, your private occasions, your reminders, your renewal dates, your trash days, your email address, or anything else on your device. Only what you shared.
Please treat household names, display names, and activity entries as visible to everyone in the household, because they are. If you leave or are removed, your access ends immediately, but entries you already contributed remain visible to the household.
4. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment card details.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. to check and manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user identifier, your purchase and entitlement status, and basic device and app version information. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything from your device that is listed in Section 1.
If you own a household and your subscription lapses, we record the date it lapsed, so members of your household can be given the grace period described in our Terms.
5. What we record about your setup
If you have an account, we keep a record of how far you have got with setting Thrively up. Only that.
Stored against your account:
- Whether you have entered a driver's license, passport, or vehicle registration expiration date — not the dates themselves
- Whether you have set a trash day and a recycling day — not which days
- Whether you turned any of those off deliberately, as opposed to never answering
- How many reminders and how many birthdays or anniversaries you have — as counts only, never their contents
- The kind of home you told us you have, and whether you are in a household
- The calendar date you finished setup, and the most recent calendar date you opened the app — stored as dates, never times. Like any database row, the record also carries the moment it was last saved, which is typically a time you had the app open that day
Why. So we can tell how many people never get round to adding a passport or license date, and remind them later — and so we can see which parts of setting up are worth simplifying.
What it never includes. The name of anything, the text of anything, or any expiration date. Your passport's expiry date stays on your phone; all we know is whether that field is blank.
This record is updated at most once a day, and it is deleted along with your account (Section 10).
6. Notifications
Thrively's reminders are local notifications, scheduled by the app on your own device. We do not operate a push server, and we do not collect a push notification token.
When another member of your household does something, your app learns about it over a live connection to our database and then raises a notification locally. The content is not routed through any notification service.
7. What we do not collect
To be explicit, because generic privacy policies often claim otherwise:
- No phone number, postal address, or date of birth
- No location or GPS data of any kind
- No contacts, calendar, photos, camera, microphone, or health data
- No advertising identifier (IDFA), and no advertising
- No third-party analytics, attribution, or tracking SDKs
- No cookies, web beacons, or tracking pixels in the app
- No biometric data — Face ID is verified by iOS on your device, and we only receive a yes or no
- No sale or sharing of personal information, ever
- No expiration dates, trash days, task titles, or occasion names on our servers from your private list — Section 5 describes the setup record we do keep, which holds whether those fields are filled in and never what is in them. Tasks you deliberately mark as shared are the single exception, and Section 3 sets out exactly what those carry
- Nothing recording whether anybody is at home. Vacation mode stores the dates it covers and nothing else — no location, and no statement about the building
8. Who processes data for us
| Provider | What it handles | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase, Inc. | Database, authentication, live updates for accounts, households, shared tasks and their completions, the shared plan state, and the setup record in Section 5 | United States |
| Apple Inc. | Sign in with Apple, App Store payments | United States |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Subscription and entitlement status | United States |
Each acts as our processor under contract and may use the data only to provide its service to us. We do not authorize any of them to sell it.
Like every internet service, our providers' servers see your device's IP address when the app connects, and keep it briefly in routine technical logs. We do not use it to locate you, build any profile from it, or store it in your account records.
9. Why we are allowed to process it
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our legal bases are:
- Performance of a contract — running your account, your household, and your subscription
- Legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse, and filtering unacceptable text; we have considered your rights and do not think these uses override them
- Consent — where you have given it, such as allowing notifications; you may withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose something by law
10. How long we keep it
Account and household data is kept while your account is open. So is the setup record described in Section 5; it is overwritten rather than accumulated, so there is one current copy and no history.
Shared tasks and their completion records belong to the household, not to one member, so they are kept while the household exists. Deleting a shared task removes it for everyone. If you leave a household, the tasks you shared stay with it, and copies return to your own device as private tasks.
Vacation dates are cleared when the break ends. The most recent window is kept briefly afterwards so a phone that was switched off during it can catch up, and is replaced the next time anybody takes one.
When you delete your account from inside the app, we immediately remove you from any household and queue your data on our servers for permanent deletion. You have 14 days to change your mind — simply sign back in during that window and the deletion is canceled, and you are put back in the household you were in. After 14 days it is permanent and cannot be undone. The setup record in Section 5 is removed automatically with your account.
Everything held only on your iPhone is erased at once, when you ask, and cannot be restored — it was never anywhere else. The 14 days apply to your account and to what we hold, which is what there is to change your mind about.
Activity entries you contributed to a household remain visible to that household if you simply leave or are removed, since they form a shared record. If you delete your account, they are erased along with everything else.
If you own a household when you delete your account, the household is not destroyed along with you. Ownership passes to the remaining member who has had a Thrively account the longest, and the household and its shared information carry on without you. If you were its only member, the household is deleted with your account.
Backups may retain residual copies for a short period after deletion, after which they are overwritten in the ordinary course.
Deleting the app does not delete your account. Use the in-app deletion first if that is what you want.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent.
Most of these are available directly in the app: edit your display name, leave a household, or delete your account entirely. For anything else, email hello@thrively.app and we will respond within the period required by applicable law, and in any case within 30 days.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose requiring an opt-out. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months, including that of anyone under 16. Because we do not sell or share, we do not honor Global Privacy Control signals — there is nothing for them to opt out of.
12. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers store data there. If you use Thrively from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your own.
For transfers from the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, as incorporated into our agreements with our providers. Contact us for details.
13. Security
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access to account and household records is enforced at the database level by row-level security policies, so one account cannot read another's data or a household it does not belong to, even if the app were modified. Where a password is used at all, it is stored only as a salted hash.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by law.
14. Children
Thrively is not directed to children, and you must be at least 16 to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal information, email hello@thrively.app and we will delete it promptly.
15. Links to other sites
Thrively may link to third-party sites, including retailer product listings, and some links may carry an affiliate identifier that earns us a commission at no extra cost to you. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy. We are not responsible for their practices and encourage you to read their policies.
16. Automated text filtering
Text you enter in certain fields — display names, household names, and activity messages — is checked automatically against a list of unacceptable words, both on your device and on our servers. The check is a simple pattern match. It makes no decision about you, produces no profile, and has no legal or similarly significant effect. Rejected text is not stored.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Please review it periodically.
